Dori is an accomplished architect, researcher and practitioner in the field of digital manufacturing and disruptive technology. He began his architectural studies at Tel Aviv University, where he graduated cum laude and won the prestigious ‘Shahar Ziv’ scholarship for his work on the impact of buildings and cities on the planet’s resources. Dori later opened an architecture office called DE.arch, where he produced innovative designs for startup companies and won a competition for electronic bicycle stations throughout the city of Tel Aviv. Subsequently, in the Master’s program at the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC), he specialized in parametric design and the use of new technologies in architecture. His Master’s project, under the tutelage of Enric Ruiz Geli, won the school’s Innovative Energy Award for its proposal on public infrastructure that cleans air pollution. After completing his studies, Dori remained at IAAC as a tutor on self-sufficient (sustainable) buildings. He also joined the Barcelona-based architectural firm Cloud 9 as a parametric design expert. Dori’s ongoing research Minibuilders, involves using robots to 3D print buildings.
